Update: we were so sad to learn that Kristen was moving to Japan so when she contacted me saying she was coming back to the States to do some mini sessions, we jumped at the opportunity to work with her again. With two very active boys, I get nervous at how our sessions will go. But, Kristen is so playful, easy-going and she always manages to capture beautiful images for me to cherish for years and years. You can clearly see how much she loves our little family through the shots. Thank you Kristen, can’t wait to see how the latest batch turns out!!

We LOVED Kristen! She is professional, super sweet and my boys had so much fun with her. We did a mini session with her and her turn-around time was SO quick! The pictures turned out so pretty and I am so thankful she captured my boys at this age. Definitely recommend Kristen!!

Kristen is such a fantastic photographer! She was so fun and easy to work with and somehow managed to get the most precious photos of all four of my young children looking happy and engaged in our family photos. We got so many wonderful photos in the perfect mini session. And she even had delicious hichews all the way from Japan for my kids at the end. It was the best experience! I can only hope that she returns to Naperville to take our photos again!

I was nervous about booking a photographer for a photoshoot overseas because I had never done it before. There is an internet sea of people with all kinds of options, but we wanted a family photographer who is familiar with Tokyo since we used to live there. Also, Kristen said in her Instagram Bio that she is a relaxed family photographer so I was concerned about having a good time but not very good photos taken - my husband does some photography and I get very "preferential" about pictures. I expressed my concerns at the end of a survey Kristen has before the session, which was great for us.

Thanks to her online expertise, she has essentially streamlined the whole experience, which made it easy to communicate back and forth. She has video introductions and instructions, so I was able to meet her and hear her voice. It provided a more friendly approach, which I appreciated. Also, I have to applaud her for the way she was on top of communicating before and after the photoshoot. It was complicated trying to meet up with her because Tokyo is a huge metropolitan city and prefecture in general. However, she was with us 100% of the way and always communicated quickly.

When we got to the photoshoot, it was go-time. It was kind of intense with how many poses we got in that one hour. But when our toddler got fussy, she helped him to settle down by trying different activities. My only small request for next time: I think it would have helped if we did a quick check-in during the shoot to see how we were doing - I was honestly overwhelmed during the first half of the shoot.

However, she delivered the photos in just one week - it was so quick! I was delighted to see how they turned out and my worries dissipated. Given that I had asked for pretty much "picture perfect photos," she nailed it. I was surprised by how amazing they turned out because I'm usually never happy with the photos I get... so Kristen is definitely a photographer who knows what she's doing. Not to mention she moved very recently to Tokyo before our photoshoot so that in itself was a huge feat. She's superwoman for staying on top of things!

If you're looking for a photographer worthy of an expensive holiday overseas for the first time in x number of years, go for Kristen. She delivers.

My boys and I did a mommy and me photo shoot with Kristen and we had great experience. I was a bit hesitant as one of my sons is special needs and it is not always easy to capture pictures. Due to his special needs, I had not gotten professional pictures done in almost two years as I was looking for a photographer that would be accommodating. Kristen was a perfect fit. When we arrived to take the pictures Kristen was very understanding when working with my son and getting him to warm up to the camera. She made him very comfortable and followed his lead.
