My providers at this office have been great. However, I have been fighting a billing dispute for 6 months which still has not been resolved. The front desk recommended I see a PA for a follow up rather than my PCP, as I could get care faster if I saw the PA. Despite knowing my insurance information, they scheduled me with a PA who was out of network even though my PCP there is in network. I have been charged $481 for a primary care follow up visit which should have been free of charge. I have made numerous calls since July 2024 and while always promised a call back, I would wait weeks without a response. Prompting me to check in monthly. I am still fighting this because I do not want to be taken advantage of my the healthcare/ billing system. All of the billing staff have been friendly over the phone but I this has been extremely poorly managed. Would love to speak with an office manager to get this resolved.

Major problems with the front desk, the ladies just don’t want to do any work. I honestly believe they should be fired. Not only did they not wanna take my ID because it would be easier for them to make me do it, but I also gave them my insurance information to put on file when I scheduled the appointment, but when I got there, there was no information for me on file and I’ve been going there for six years. This was by far one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had at any doctors office. All they had to do is put my information on file when I gave it to them, and take my identification. What’s so hard about that? The answer is nothing. It should have been a simple 30 minute visit, I couldn’t make my appointment because of the ladies at the front desk.

What a mess. I adored my doctor, but she left and the clinic sent zero proactive communication about first her leaving and second about being bought out, or "merged" with Optum. I need a prescription for my mental health. In the past, my doctor refilled automatically, and then during my yearly well-being visits we discussed, and she would then continue authorizing the prescription or adjust if needed. Without warning, my prescriptions refills were being denied. I called Walgreens and the pharmacist said they would re-send for authorization, and it was denied. I then call Optum, formerly New West, and was told the prescription required an appointment every 3-6 months because it was a "controlled substance." That was not the case previously; it simply was authorized and I would discuss as part of my yearly well-being visit how I was doing, feeling, etc with my previous provider. When I shared this, the person I spoke with made me feel like I was in the wrong for not knowing this. How could I know this when that was not my past experience, and Walgreens nor Optum communicated that proactively? I feel like health and getting treatment for needed prescriptions require a clinic, especially when they merge, to be proactive and reach-out to patients so they are not left without the resources they need to live a healthy life. This has left me also feeling cynical about this care site; I now think they intentionally are demanding patients come in repeatedly so they can bill insurance and make more money, even if those additional appointments are not tied to a specific need. That may not be the case, but this is how I feel. I will be moving to a new practice and do not recommend this care site to anyone.

I called to get my prescription refilled that I need. They don’t have any visits for months yet won’t get my prescription filled for the time being so I don’t have withdrawals from it. Apparently I’ve “never been there” and the doctor left. Front desk couldn’t have been less helpful. Absolutely never go here

Booked a virtual appointment. I was told 8:45. Logged in at 8:40. They called at 9am saying they may not be able to do the appointment then said he's available. Apparently tried logging in saying I wasn't in the room (I was the entire time). Then called me back at 9:15 to say he has another appointment and can't see me. They rebooked me at another time and didn't apologize for the mistake. I've had 2 doctors that have left and a behavioral therapist that left since optum took over.

I have been going to New West for years, but this place is so bad now that Optum has bought them out. All the good doctors have left, and I will never be back after my recent experience. I went in a couple weeks ago and had an appointment with the PA Hector Frisbie. I never felt listened to during my appointment, it felt very rushed and was prescribed a medicine for an ailment we didn’t even know if I had or not (turns out I didn’t). I found out that the interaction with the drug he prescribed and the one medication I take regularly needs to be closely monitored, so I emailed him for more information. Heard back a week later that it’s totally fine to take, even though internet research and a chat with the pharmacy says otherwise. Then the results of my xray came in and determined why I was having pain, I received a very brief email about the results, mostly just copied from the radiologist. It was confusing and unhelpful, and gave no information on next steps, healing time, etc. I replied to his message asking questions, and still have yet to hear back. I have zero trust that I am in good hands with any of the providers at this practice.

It’s been one horrible experience after another at the location since Optum took over. Doctors are ok, if you can deal with the insufferable office and admin group and the hurdles you need to jump through to see a doctor. They truly don’t care about providing good care, only what they can bill insurance for.

This place just keeps merging with other practices and making healthcare worse. Calls can take hours to reach a receptionist. The good doctors are unhappy as they are leaving in droves because of Optum's way of operations. This has made healthcare difficult. Seems to be money first, doctors and patients second. Avoid this place at all costs.
