I had been referred to this office by a friend. I went there for a routine checkup and cleaning. They seemed to be very nice and my experience was good. Then I had an emergency last month and my experience went downhill. I went there with bad pain in my mouth in July. They told me I needed a root canal and that it would cost more than $2,000 with my insurance. They said they would contact my insurance to verify this and that it would take 2 weeks to verify and another 2 weeks to schedule for the procedure. In addition, THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME AGAIN to follow up. I was forced to seek treatment elsewhere and discovered that they were overcharging me. Needless to say, I will never go back there or recommend them to anyone

My husband had a partial made in 2023. Every time he would eat something the partial would come out. So... in June 2024 he was told he would get an implant. We go back in August as told by the office to wait for 3 months and was told there was another problem implant can't be done needs to be seen by another "Specialist ". Poor service. My husband who's from Alabama and speaks no Spanish was in the chair and the assistant and Dr. were speaking Spanish in his presence. That's just rude. I had been going to this office for 10 plus years and never knew they most of the staff does not speak English.

Horrible customer service. Front desk only wants to steal your money and don’t NOT care about wellbeing of their patients. They want easy money. Do NOT recommend

I have been a patient of Family Dental since I was a little girl (I'm 25 now). I absolutely love going to Family Dental as they have exceptional services with their patients and are extremely clean. The dental hygienists are all well-trained and professionals, there's no harshness (character wise and physically) while treating me and they're super friendly. I have yet to get a treatment done with them and leave not feeling good with my experience.

I did a dental implant here and it failed after a year. They were always pushing me to do more implants after it failed. Like why would I do more implants if this one didn’t hold. They tried again and the second one didn’t even hold a month. They tried to charge me for the second attempt. I feel like these people never cared and was all about the money. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Total rip off and all about money. They don’t care about their patients at all. When I found my new dentist I realized how overpriced they were and how money hungry these people were. Completely disappointed and beyond upset with their services. Worst dentist ever. Don’t go to this place . Trust me

I've been coming here for many, many years. Doctor Fernandez is one of a million. Always makes you feel comfortable. No pain and perfect teeth is the outcome.

This is by far the best dentistry office in Miami I have been to in the past 30 years! The entire staff is extraordinarily pleasant; from the front desk to the hygienist - there is not one person that does not greet you with a smile. They are clean, organized, patient, compassionate, and professional! I will never go anywhere else again as long as I am in Miami. -AG

Bamboozled at the dentist.

I had been to this dental office various times over the course of 4 years based on one particular Dr that I know and like. The office was always very polite and I was always happy with the service. I select all of my Dr's based on credentials and reputation and although I had recently moved over 1.5 hours away, I decided to go back here based on the Dr. that I use.

Unfortunately, on the day of my initial appointment, the Dr. had an emergency and I was asked to come in 2 days later. On the newly rescheduled appointment day, I called ahead to ensure the Dr. would be working that day and was told she was. I drove the 1.5 hours distance to this office. I arrived, was attended right away, had my cleaning and x rays and then was waiting for a bit. I was then told the Dr. would arrive shortly. Eventually, a Dr. that is not my usual Dr. walked in and proceeded to start the exam. No introduction was made and I had to ask if this Dr. was substituting my Doctor. I was told, she still had the emergency and that this Dr would be performing the exam.
That is is, I was not asked if I minded, or wanted to be seen by this other Dr. Although, I can understand the office is trying to provide a service to me, I think the patient at the least, has a right to know if the Dr. they came to see is the one that will perform the exam. I should be told this upon arrival. Also if not being seen by the regular Dr., the patient should be asked if they are ok with a substitute Dr. performing the exam. I was not asked, it was just presumed that they can substitute one Dr. for another and that I have no choice in the matter.
I have no idea who this replacement Doctor is, what their name is, nor what their experrience and credentials are. I do not think patiens should be treated as Chattel and I think patients have a right to make choices for themselves.

It is a shame, but I certainly will not be returning here as patient because I believe in a patients right to make decisions about who they recieve care from.
